RISCO Group launches the BACnet interface for SynopSYS™
The SynopSYS™ Security & Building management Platform now includes the BACnet protocol which is the most extensively used protocol in building automation controllers and devices. Empowering SynopSYS™ with the new BACnet protocol increases SynopSYS™ suitability for a larger variety of projects worldwide, since it allows a single user interface for both security and Building Management systems. The Full Integration enables to generate relations between devices and activation of one device according to the predefined state of the other. By that, SynopSYS™ allows greater energy efficiency, better decision making and a more effective real-time reaction to events.
BACnet compliant devices include elevator controllers, HVAC systems, lighting solutions, utility monitoring, Life Safety systems and environmental controls.
Information from a BACnet system can be displayed on the SynopSYS™ Workstation, using the enterprise software packages available from SynopSYS. Users can receive alarms and data logs for all monitored BACnet object properties directly to the SynopSYS™.

4B Industries work with Liverpool Chamber's Business Crime Prevention Team
Liverpool Chamber’s business crime prevention team have helped a small Wavertree business to continue trading after a traumatic robbery.
In November 2009 Stephanie Agugua was robbed at knife point at her business Le Stye hairdressers on Wavertree Road, by two men wearing hoods entered and brandishing a knife. A large amount of banknotes was snatched from behind the counter.
Stephanie has a heart condition made worse by this experience and had to close down for a period. She lost a number of customers due to their fears over safety and felt that she could only recommence business if she kept the front door to the business locked at all times.
The crime reduction division of the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, ‘Liverpool Crime Alert’ stepped in to help and Tony Jopson, the Chamber’s Business Crime Reduction Manager, gave Stephanie crime prevention advice and when she could not raise the finance for security improvements, Liverpool Crime Alert stepped in to resolve the situation with 4B Industries, by installing a new wireless WisDom security system at the hairdressers which now enables Stephanie, at the touch of a button, to be in direct communication with her own security company, whether it’s reassurance, advice or immediate assistance. The WisDom system with extended listen-in feature means the operator of the monitoring company, Cougar, can be in contact with the premises for as long as necessary. The system is set for audio upon activation and the operator will be able to speak, or listen to Stephanie, and everyone in the premises, immediately.
